Excited to have been commissioned to partner with the team at ELPO for this 18’ long by 5 foot wide black walnut conference table with custom designed legs. The ELPO team of Travis Armstrong, Heather Brooks and Aaron D. Smith were great to work with on this one-of-a-kind build. Contact me if you have custom needs for your business or home, no job is too large or too small, it’s all just functional art finding its purpose in the world!

First, the wood is carefully selected to match wood grain and board lengths.

The CAD drawing of the legs are then separated and the pieces are cut on a water jet machine.

Pieces are then welded together to create the shape of the original design for the legs.

The legs are then powder coat painted to create a long-lasting finish.

Next, everything starts coming together in the shop from the original design, including wiring the legs to provide electrical outlets for people using the conference table!

The “fitting” of the two parts of the table is checked prior to delivery.

Large grommets provide a feeding system for the electrical outlets to the extension cords “chased” through the legs.

Outlet plates are then mounted on the bottom of the table to create a clean appearance under the table per the client’s request.

Prior to delivery, the rug that is under the table is placed by the client in the room.

Over a 4-hour process, with 4 men, the table is assembled, wired and ready for utilization.

Thanks for those who helped make this project a reality on the concept and fabrication side. Everything from concept drawings to CAD drawings to water-jet cutting, fabrication and powder coat painting to wood craftsmanship, and final delivery and on-site assembly, without your help, this project would not have been possible. Benjamin Hunt, Josh Grant, Jacob Bott, Jerry Boyd, Greg Cobb and Colbren Inglis thank you men!
