It is certainly easier to buy wood for projects, but this IS the most rewarding way to curate the raw materials! I’ve never seen a portable saw mill until about 3 years ago but what a treat it is to go thru this process. You get to cut the wood the thickness you want it, the length you want it and ultimately maximize everything you get out of the log. Wood from this cutting is on it’s way to being dining room tables.
